Day 1
Fly to Los Angeles
This morning you fly to Los Angeles. The flight arrives in the afternoon and on arrival you transfer by private coach to your hotel. After check you have dinner at a city centre restaurant.
Day 2
Warner Brothers Studios and Hollywood Tour
After breakfast you travel to Burbank to do the tour at Warner Brothers Studios where among the many movie and TV sets you can see Central Perk Café from Friends, and Joey and Chandlers apartment!
After lunch you have a short driving tour which takes in some of the most famous sights in Hollywood including the famous Hollywood sign which is positioned high above the city. You head up into the Hollywood Hills and to Mulholland Drive, made famous by the eponymous David Lynch film, and with some of the world’s most exclusive and expensive homes, a favoured residence of Hollywood’s stars and executives. You stop at the Jerome C. Daniel Overlook which gives a sensational view across Hollywood and to the high-rise buildings of central Los Angeles. You also look down onto the Hollywood Bowl which has been used for outdoor concerts since 1929.
In the afternoon you see some of the iconic Hollywood sights. We see walk along Hollywood Boulevard to the Chinese Theatre where we see Hollywood film star’s hand prints in cement. Also here is the famous Walk of Fame where film greats throughout the ages are celebrated with their own star on the pavement. We can then continue to Beverly Hills to see Rodeo Drive and Sunset Boulevard.
Dinner this evening is at a city restaurant.
Day 3
Universal Studios Tour & Backstage Tour
Today you travel to the San Fernando Valley and enjoy a full day at the Universal Studios Theme Park. There are several sections in the Park and various different rides associated with the different Universal titles including the Simpsons, Jurassic World and The Mummy. One of the Park’s main attractions is the Wizarding World of Harry Potter with one of the rides housed in a replica Hogwarts castle featuring actual props from the films.
The Backstage Tour is one of the various attractions within the Park and on this you travel through a working film studio, with various film sets on the Universal Studios Lot.
This evening you transfer by private coach back to your hotel and dinner at a city restaurant.
Day 4
Paramount Studios Tour, Hollywood Forever Cemetery & Academy Museum
This morning you do the Paramount Studios Tour, visiting one of Hollywood’s legendary film studious. Paramount are one of the oldest and only remaining major studios in Hollywood. Its history stretches right back to the Golden Era when such legendary stars as Cecil B. DeMille and Douglas Fairbanks were at the height of their fame. Iconic films such as White Christmas, The Godfather and Psycho were all shot here, and later, when television began to take over, it was the setting for Star Trek. More recent productions include Titanic and the Transformers series. The tour lasts about 2 hours and you see the production back-lot, various sound stages and learn about the history of the site.
After the morning tour you can visit the Hollywood Forever Cemetery where the elite of film and entertainment, from Rudolph Valentino to Chris Cornell are immortalised.
In the afternoon you visit the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures whose exhibitions cover the art and science of moviemaking and the history of Hollywood. There are also some iconic pieces of movie memorabilia to see including Dorothy’s red slippers from the Wizard of Oz.
Dinner this evening at a city restaurant.
Day 5
Redondo Beach and Lighthouse Cafe
This morning you travel to Redondo Beach where you can visit Hermosa Beach Lighthouse Café and Pier where the famous scene from La La Land was filmed.
There will be time for an early lunch before you transfer to the airport for the homeward flight.
Day 6
Arrive Home
Your flight lands back home today.
