Suggested Itinerary

The itinerary featured here is intended to give you inspiration and an idea of what you could do on your tour. Your trip will be created individually by one of our travel advisors to match your requirements and budget.

Day 1

Flight to Granada. The Albaicin and Mirador San Nicholas

Flight to Granada: On arrival you will be met by your local guide and transfer to your hotel in the old town area. After check-in you have a traditional tapas lunch in a local restaurant.

The Albaicin: After lunch your guide will escort you on a tour of the city. You begin in the square in front of the magnificent renaissance cathedral, built in the baroque style in the early sixteenth century. You walk through the Alcaiceria Market with shops selling silver, spices, and silk before continuing into the Albaicin, the historic Moorish quarter. This is the most interesting neighbourhood in Granada, consisting of narrow winding alleys and hidden squares where the medieval street layout has been preserved.

Mirador San Nicholas: In the afternoon you walk up the hill to the Mirador viewpoint which gives a spectacular view across the red-tiled roofs of the city and across to the dramatic outline of the Alhambra Palace.

Evening: Dinner will be in a local restaurant, after which you can enjoy a stroll along the Paseo de los Tristes, a beautiful promenade lined with historic buildings and in the shadow of the Alhambra which is lit up spectacularly at night.

Day 2

Granada Science Park and the Alhambra

Granada Science Park: This morning you explore the Granada Science Park

The Alhambra: This afternoon you explore the Alhambra, the most famous site in Granada. The Alhambra is the name given to the vast complex of palaces and exquisitely maintained gardens which include the Generalife and Nasrid Palace, beautifully preserved examples of Moorish architecture. Created originally for military purposes, the Alhambra was a fortress, a Palace and a medina all in one. The highlight of the visit is the Nasrid Palace which was for centuries the residence of the Muslim rulers of Granada until they were forced from the city in the Reconquista of 1492 by the rulers of Castille and Aragon, Isabella & Ferdinand, whose tombs can be seen in the city’s Cathedral.

Evening: Dinner will be at a city centre restaurant, after which there will be time to enjoy the lively Albaicin district.
